Re: 2020

Re: 2020

Have you ever thought about the prefix “re”?

Dictionary.com defines it as a ---a prefix used with the meaning “again” or “again and again” to indicate repetition, or with the meaning “back” or “backward” to indicate withdrawal or backward motion.

During the holidays, we re-gift, rejoice, watch favorite reruns, and revisit fond memories. We also remember, reminisce, and perhaps realign our goals for the coming year.

Unfortunately, we’ve experienced a lot of negative “re” words throughout 2020. Regret, regress, re-test, retreat, repress, remorse.

Moving forward into a New Year, my hope is that we can re-explore some new words:

Reopen.

Regain.

Re-imagine.

Re-brand.

Re-create.

Reclaim.

Reassure.

Rediscover.

Revive.

Let’s re-imagine 2021 as we move forward together. Happy New Year!
